Rocking It Grand

Welcome to Rocking It Grand!

We are so honored you could stop by our site and hope you can stick around for a while. We’re both southern ladies, so we’ll just say pour a glass of sweet tea and sit a spell. Maybe, even, pull up a rocking chair.

We chose the name Rocking It Grand! because we believe that grandparents today are “rocking it” on every level. First of all, rocking our grands is the first job grandparents get to experience once that little one is born. And, oh, what fun that is! There is nothing better. Until…that little one grabs your neck and doesn’t want to let go, even to go with their mommy or he or she starts playing t-ball and you find yourself in a team shirt, yelling at the top of your lungs. Yes, life of a grandparent is sweet and full of adventures and fun.

Many of you are now carpool drivers, homework helpers, date night sitters, late night nurses, and so much more. In fact, some of you are the full time caretaker and raising your grandchildren. If that is the case, you are the ultimate rock star!

Our site is designed to come along side you, as you come along side your family. You are the leaders of your pack, the matriarch and patriarch of your family, and that job takes some intentionally, right?  We are here to help! With resources that speak to the needs of grandparents today.

Health and wellness, recipes from the south, fashion dos and don’ts, as well as hints and tips to make any day with your grands the best day ever will be regular features on our site. Plus, we are both faith-filled believers and trust that God has got this day and every other day, so we will offer devotional messages, articles, and bible verses that we believe will rock your world for God.

Once again, thank you for joining our community of rocking grands! We hope to see you often. Have a rocking day!

Hugs, Chrys and Shellie

Any suggestions for books to read for 9 and 11 year old granddaughters over the phone during this time of separation? I have terrible internet, so hard to do Skype or any video…..so will just read!
