Chrys’s Favorite Things
Hey RIG family! Since Shellie brought up the subject, I’ll jump in with a few of my possible favorite things. First of all, I did just order Jones Road Miracle Balm – https://www.jonesroadbeauty.com/ and can’t wait to try it. I’m in need of a complete makeup makeover. Anyone else feel that need? I’m starting with Jones Road Miracle Balm, but I also ordered the cheek and lip stick and the foundation, so we’ll see. I’m still working on eyes, but I’ll let you know what I decide and if Jones is truly a favorite thing.
In another category, I finally bit the bullet, so to speak, and joined the Rent the Runway crew. I have a granddaughter who does it all the time and looks fabulous, so I decided to give it a try. Here’s the deal, I do love fashion and clothes, but I don’t need a closet full of them anymore. I tend to buy something for a special occasion and then it sits in my closet forever. I joined Rent the Runway at the lowest level, just five pieces a month and plan to use it for those special occasions, like a wedding or a speaking engagement, etc. Here’s the link if you want to check it out. For my first order, I got a sweater that I would never buy (too expensive), a pair of jeans (also expensive and decided I didn’t love them), a sundress (there is also a way to buy clothes way cheap, so did that), and two dresses for possible weddings. You see in the pictures the green sweater dress and the dressy gold dress. The green sweater dress was worn on our anniversary dinner date and was going to be worn at a wedding after Christmas. The same for the gold dress, but life had different plans. I ended up sick and missed both upcoming weddings, so I’ll send these dresses back and pick something up for February events. At least the green got worn; the gold never saw the light of day and I really like it. I might pick it up again later.
The downside is you must think ahead about what events you would want something new for, but that’s not too hard. We all have calendars that fill up quickly, so I think I can do it. Most importantly, I have another granddaughter wedding coming up in June. She’s getting married in Tuscany, Italy and the dress code is formal garden. Pretty cool, huh? I’m thinking I can rent something and not add to the other seven grandmother of the bride dresses I have hanging in my closet. I’ll keep you updated on that!
So, it’s still a little early to determine if Rent the Runway is a favorite, but so far, so good.
