What’s Up with Pants in 2021?

I recently had a wedding in Dallas. (See post about that fairy tale event.) I have to tell you that a trip to Dallas for us small-town folks is still pretty exciting. For me, it takes me back to my childhood when I had cousins in Dallas who welcomed our family on many Thanksgivings. We would go to Six Flags, buy school clothes and eat at fun restaurants. It was always fun time.

So, on our recent wedding trip to Dallas, we made time to do a little shopping and see what the fashions for fall 2021 look like. I knew it would still involve easy, comfy clothes as we all got a little spoiled to comfy clothes during covid and we’re not ready to go backwards, but what else is out there? I think the biggest trendsetter I saw is wider leg pants.

Now, pants have been trending this way for a few years, but this year it seems to have really made it’s way into every type of pant. I saw jeans with a looser fit as well as leather and dress pants. I realize this wider leg isn’t for everyone, so there’s good news here as well. The straighter leg and skinny leg can still play a part in our wardrobe and are still out there, but the wider leg is the fashion trend, if you’re keeping up. You know Zara is my go-to. I love their look, their longer lengths, and their prices. The pair I landed on have a flared bottom, which is very “in” right now, ripped knees, also very “in”, and split sides at the hem. They look great with boots or flats. And, they are only $45.90. Here’s the link: HIGH RISE FLARED SLIM FIT Z1975 JEANS – Light blue | ZARA United States

Another pair of jeans from Zara that I love are the wider leg style. Again, it’s very long, which is perfect for me, but it has a unhemmed leg, so you could cut to whatever length you need. Both jeans are high-waisted, which I declared I would never go back to, but now love, so there you have it. Fashion folks are fickle! Here’s the link to the second pair: WIDE LEG JEANS – Blue / Gray | ZARA United States. On this trip, I didn’t get any leather pants, but I’m considering. Will keep you posted.

Have a great week! Hugs, Chrys
