Wedding Update
Yes, my grandkids are getting married faster than a frog hopping out of a fire! Our latest event was in the Dallas area at the beautiful Knotting Hill Mansion in Little Elm. The groom was my grandson, Asa Howard. He married the love of his life, Bailey McKnight. Oh. My. Word. It was magical! The day was an iffy-day of possible rain, but this venue had both inside and outside options, so there was a complete win either way.
We were able to have it outside and it was simply stunning. I’m just going to let you look at pics for the most part because a picture says a thousand words, right? But I must give you some facts.
- My oldest grandson, John Luke, officiated the ceremony and I couldn’t have been prouder. It was the sweetest!
- The boy cousins were the groomsmen. That made me so happy. They were so handsome and so supportive of the groom, Asa. For the best groomsmen dance ever, go to my Instagram or Facebook page and look it up. So cute?
- The venue—stunning!
- The reception was so much fun. The band was a little loud for us “oldies” but, wow, they were killing it! We danced a little, but mostly, just enjoyed the show. The food was awesome. Choices of food included little tacos or a box of Asian food or macaroni and cheese. All good.
- The bridesmaid’s dresses were soft and sweet in a delicate shade of purple. They looked good on every bridesmaid, including my granddaughter, Aslyn.
- The bride—spectacular! The dress was perfect for Bailey. Touches of whimsical and elegant really define this sweet girl. She is so much fun, but also knows how to be graceful and elegant.
- The guests. We were instructed to wear white, which is the opposite of every wedding we have ever gone to, but it was the best! It was so fun to see everyone’s “white” choice and the aesthetic of the whole wedding was perfect. (My dress is from BHOLDN (Anthropologie) and I got it on sale for a great price!)
- One more thing, the bride and groom left the reception in a helicopter. Yes, they did! The parents of the bride surprised the wedding couple with this final touch. It was so fun to watch the landing and take-off, but not something we will soon witness again.
All in all, just an amazing weekend of wedding fun. The very next day, we started on the next wedding. My granddaughter, Macy, is next! So here we go again….
Hugs, Chrys
