We all have broken pieces
One day at camp I got a call on the walkie-talkie stating there was broken glass at the pool and the little day campers were on their way. That’s a “yikes” moment.
A “yikes” moment almost always involves accessing blame. I could hear the chatter over my walkie-talkie. “Why is there glass at the pool?” “Who would have done this?” Immediately after, or even while, accessing blame, something more important starts to happen. Clean up. Did your mom or dad ever say, “That mess won’t clean up by itself?” They were right. Things don’t clean up by themselves. It’s not just glass that gets broken. It’s us. Humans.
What an awesome God we serve. A God who had the ultimate “yikes” moment as He watched the brokenness of a world He loved. He knew who was to blame and He knew there was only one way to clean it up.
It is in Jesus’ death that God picked up the broken pieces of your life. Yes, it was over 2000 years ago, but the clean up is still happening today. God wants to sweep up your broken pieces and, not throw them away, but put them back together, stronger than ever.
I hope you have an awesome week resting in the love of a gracious Father.
