The Packing Dilemma

I spent last week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was a real estate convention for my husband and, basically, a writing week for me. Johnny spent three days from 9:00 to 1:30 listening to successful realtors tell their secrets, so I used the same time to work on my writing assignments. The afternoons were spend eating, exercising and getting a little sunshine.

We got to be with our daughter, Ashley, and her husband, Jay, as they are also realtors. That made the trip more special, of course. But, they are rock stars in this realty group, so their spare time was truly spare. Still, it was fun to be with them.

I talked about shopping for the trip last week so today I want to give you the conclusion. I bought a great, thin white long sleeve sweater which proved to be perfect for a trip to the beach, especially at this time of the year. I wore it on both plane trips and kept it with me every evening we went out. I think I’m going to love it all spring. I also bought a new pair jeans that are thinner than my winter jeans and were also super soft. They are skinny jeans, but trust me, they are so comfortable.

I am not a huge over packer. I like to keep it simple mainly because I hate the unpacking part of a trip, so if I don’t pack it, I don’t have to unpack it. Plus, bags cost these days!!! It’s crazy! We always try to pack in one bag. This is a to-each-his-own kind of a thing. Some people don’t mind paying for an extra bag and I will for other kinds of trips that require a more varied wardrobe, but the beach is an easy trip to pack like for.

Here’s what I packed in case you’re wondering what to take to a beach trip:

  1. One pullover white sweater (brand Double Zero-link here: https://www.shoptiques.com/products/double_zero-white-v-neck-sweater)
  2. Three neutral short sleeve shirts (One was a little dressier. Remember this was a beach trip.)
  3. One workout outfit (I worked out twice that week. Just wore the same thing.)
  4. One pair of capris (If you’re younger than me, take shorts. For me, capris.)
  5. One pair of jeans (soft and comfortable enough to wear on the plane)Link here: https://www.kancanusa.com/collections/super-skinny/products/kc7085loh
  6. Two bathing suits and one cover up (Resisted the urge to take four suits for four days.)
  7. A soft jean jacket (not heavy)
  8. One dress (mine was long but a short dress works too)
  9. One pair of cute flip flops (not the plastic kind, so they can be worn to dinner or the beach)
  10. One pair of walking tennis shoes
  11. One pair of shoes worn on the plane (mine were a cute pair of tennis shoes).
  12. Of course, the essential undies and pj’s

Each piece could easily be worn with the other piece to change the look up. Even the dress could have the sweater over it or tied to it to give it a different look.

That’s it! Comment below if you’re a big packer or conservative like me.

Summer is right around the corner. Your beach trip might be coming up! Happy Packing!

Hugs, Chrys
