Thinking back to a conversation I had with one of our out of state grandchildren several years back. He was so happy about our visit and sad thinking about when we would have to leave.

Me: So, Connor, just think, when you grow up, you can get in your car and come see me!

Connor: But it’s a long way to your house and I don’t know how to get there.

Me: You’ll have the directions on your phone telling you when to turn left and went to turn right! You’ll do fine!

Connor: But, Keggie, I can’t remember my right from my left!

Me: You will, Con Con, you will!

Connor sighs: I sure hope you’re right.

It’s okay to enjoy the sweet nostalgia of yesterday but let’s be determined not to allow it to steal our present tense joy! There’s life to be lived and people to be loved in this day! Oh, and Connor has his right and left hands down pat.
