Live in the Moment
Monday Motivational: I’m totally undone watching children forgive each other. Kiddos can fight, snatch each other’s toys, push one another down and, within minutes, hug. What?? Oh, that we,the adults in their lives, could do the same.
Curious to know how and why this happens, I turned to a new source of info, ChatGPT. Here’s what it said:
“A child’s ability to forgive is rooted in their limited sense of ego and their inherent trust in others.”First of all, WOW! It went on to say, “children tend to live in the moment which allows them to move past conflicts quickly AND (I love this one) children prioritize personal relationships over a sense of righteousness.” Double WOW!!.
Did you know a little, but hugely important, detail of your being created in the image of God means you can take hold of that type of forgiveness too? Forgiveness isn’t about forgetting or excusing wrongdoing but about letting go of negativity to foster love, connection, and growth.
It’s a new year, but old issues might be holding you back from really experiencing the kind of forgiveness and love that God gives to all of us. While it’s more common to challenge others “to grow up”, today it seems appropriate to challenge us to be like a child. It’s time to limit our ego, live in the moment, and prioritize relationships.
Have a great week. Hugs. Chrys (hug pic: Holland and Ella)
