If The Shoe Fits
I love cute heels. Some days. I love cute flats. Most days.
I tend to wear heels when I’m speaking, or when I’m out with the girls, but I’m always on the lookout for fashionable flats. My darling husband is barely an inch or so taller than I am– when we’re both standing flat-footed. If I wear heels when we’re together, I’m taller than he is. And while Phil is a confident man who does not mind this one bit, the fact remains, I simply don’t like it.
I can’t help it. That man and I celebrated 39 years of marriage this past August and while Phil has always laughed this issue off and encouraged me to wear my heels when we’re together, I still avoid it if I can. I think it’s safe to say we have a pattern here that isn’t going to change. Hence, my ongoing search for fashionable loafers.
Is this “I don’t want to be taller than my man” thing just me? Maybe. Maybe not. I realize it may be a moot point for many of you, but for those who find yourself in my shoes, (I couldn’t help it), or for those who may enjoy flats for their own reasons, I’m excited to tell you about my new find. Lulus Pointed Loafers rock! I bought these adorable pointed-toe flats in camel, but I’ll be picking them up in a couple more colors. Click HERE for the link!
Let’s be honest. Flats can hurt our feet as much as our heels do if they’re not well-made. Lulus check all my boxes. They have the tiniest heel. They’re comfy, they have a cushioned insole and a nonskid rubber sole. No worries about slippery slides here. You’ll be good to go with Lulus until you decide to crash, intentionally.
And with that, I think I’ll go back and pick up those little red jobs. Or the leopard prints, or the black ones. They’d be nice to have for dressier events. Then again, those navy ones sure were cute. What can I say? They’re all calling my name!
