Fun Ways to Cheer On Our Grands

One of the things I love to do for my grandkids is to use fun, inexpensive items and have each item mean something inspiring or fun.  This can be done for any occasion and can be done as a gift bag or on poster board or rolled out on your dining room table on butcher block paper as a centerpiece for a family dinner or as a letter.

As an example I’ll tell you about the Back to School Survival Kit I made them. I just used a plain white sack and filled it with the items listed below. On the outside of the bag I wrote the inspirational message. This could be done on the outside or on a note on the inside.

Here’s my list:

Star-to remind you to always do your best

Chocolate Kiss-to remind you that you are loved.

Starburst—to give you a burst of energy for each day.

Confetti-to remind you that each day is a party. Make it count!

Gum-to remind you to stick to your goals.

Yarn-to remind you that friendships tie the heart together. Value them

Eraser-to remind you that everyone makes mistakes. It’s okay.

Clay-to remind you that God is molding and shaping you.

Paintbrush-to remind you that each day is a new canvas. Paint it like you want it to be.

M & M’s- to remind you to memorize and meditate on scripture.

Remember, you could use this lots of different ways. You could just take one of them, like the Starburst, and send it to a grandchild and, “Sending you an extra BURST of love today.”

Have fun!

Hugs, Chrys
