Word for Wednesday: Love

Hey RIG family! My Word for Wednesday is LOVE. I’m praying Philippians 1:9-11 over my people these days and I thought I’d share my tip for remembering the prayer points. First, the Scripture:

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1: 9-11

And here’s the acronym I’ve developed. I’ll take the “L” and pray “for Weston to live a pure life walking wholeheartedly with God”, and so forth. Sometimes I pray for them by name, and sometimes I pray for my “kids and my grandkids”, “my parents”, “my church family”, or a group of people I’ve just spoken to at an event. It depends on where I am in my conversation with the Lord! You may notice the points are not in the same order as they are in the verses, and I’m okay with that as long as the acronym helps me remember them!

Perhaps you can use it in praying over your people! Let me know what you think. If it’s helpful, I’ll do more of these! Hugs, Shellie

My Grand Prayer from Philippians:

LOVE

L – Live a pure life walking wholeheartedly with God
O – Overflow in love from experimental knowledge of God, growing in wisdom
V – Value what is good and best, discerning clearly
E – Evidence fruits from a life lived with Jesus
