Monday Motivation
I have been nursing a broken little toe for five weeks now. In five weeks it’s gone from extremely painful with Uggs being my only shoe choice to slightly painful and most shoes are okay. It’s not well. It’s better. If I’m barefoot, I am still very mindful of it and walk past anything, like the iron chairs in my kitchen, with extreme caution. It’s hurt. Wounded.
In 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, we read, “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.” The analogy is simple. Just as all of my body parts, even my little toe, make up who I am, so is the church. The church is made up of many different people, capable of different roles and no role is unimportant. Sadly, many times the “broken toe” doesn’t get nurtured, looked after, and protected. I’m saddened when I read about a vital part of a church family who was cast away instead of wrapped in love by their community of believers. As a church, we need to do better.
I am blessed. I attend a church who welcomes the wounded and stands ready to hold the arms of the hurting up, so they can fight the evil in this world. I hope you are too. If not, find those people. Find the ones who seek to save the lost and will stand by you through the “broken toe” moments in your life.
Have a great week. Hugs, Chrys (hug pic with Haven)
