The Shacket and Jacket Trend
Have you joined the new shacket trend? Yes, the shacket trend. Remember the 1950’s when girls wearing their dad’s shirts was a thing? Then, remember the 1990’s when plaid shirts were a thing? Well, those two trends got together and now we have the Shacket. It’s where a shirt and a jacket meet and become one. It’s an oversized flannel shirt worn as a jacket. Does any of that make sense?
They are everywhere and are in every price point you can imagine. They’re soft and comfy and really are the perfect weight for the weather we have in the south. They are easy to pair with a turtleneck or a t-shirt and can come off quickly if the weather warms up. They are perfect with jeans or corduroys, but they could also work as a shirt dress with some tall boots or booties. The one I’m wearing has a cute little puffed sleeve which makes it a more interesting and fun. The brand is Lida Kate. I got mine from a local store– Herringstones. Here’s a link. They do have an online store so check it out. Lida Kate – HerringStone’s Boutique (herringstonesboutique.com) Here’s a link to Old Navy. They have some cute shackets too. Shelly and I decided to also give you a look at two other jacket trends this fall. Shellie is in a faux leather blazer. Blazers are always a good decision in your wardrobe. They can be causal with jeans or dressed up with velvet pants. And I love this color on her. I’m wearing a crop jacket which is again great dressed up or dressed down. That is why I love jackets. They are so versatile and can change a look instantly. Wear a pair of jeans and a shirt all day, then throw on a jacket for dinner out.
I’ll going to leave a link here to H&M jackets. They have done a great job this fall with some new, trendy looks at affordable prices.
Well, happy shopping. As always, more to choose from than we deserve. Whatever you wear, wear with grace and humility.
Hugs, Chrys
